Event: Band Pre-Camp Practice Week
When: The week of June 2nd - 6th, 2003
Here it is - the second day of Band Pre-Camp Practice!! After warm-ups the band worked on some
marching basics for the sake of the incoming freshmen both forward and backward marching, first
without instruments, and then with instruments, and then playing music with the instruments.
I must say, the freshmen are looking GOOD!! Band Camp will be later this summer when the
temperatures are HOT - 115 to 120 degrees on the asphalt practice field.
The band is under the direction of Kevin Hulsey, who is in his 6th year at Bosse.
His staff includes:

Field Commanders for the band this year are Katelyn Farmer and VaShira Hawkins.
As usual, there is always a band member showing up late for practice - and we all know the
penalty for that J -- 1 lap for each minute you're late.
This year the Marching Bulldogs will be competing in Class B instead of Class C as in prior
years. What does Mr. Hulsey think about their changes in Class B competition?? "It should be
interesting. But some of the Class B bands got bumped up to Class A", he says.
And just what kind of show can we expect from the Marching Bulldogs this year?? As usual, it
will be fun and will get the crowd on their feet!!!
